Lavaca Middle School

Our 6th graders are already putting their mathematical thinking to work! 📐✨ This week students explored new strategies for finding the area of complex shapes, making connections, and learning from one another. Some students even stepped up to the document camera to show their work and explain their thinking, giving the class a chance to learn from their classmates’ strategies. We love seeing students take ownership of their learning and discover that there can be more than one way to solve a problem! 🧠📏💙

Our 8th graders had some fun with research this week in Physical Science! They explored, investigated, and learned new things while putting their research skills to work. We love seeing our students engaged and learning! 💜💛🏹

Our 7th graders had a great week in Mrs. Winchester’s science class! They worked together to complete the “Saving Fred” activity, practicing teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and critical-thinking skills along the way.

📚LMS School Supply Lists are Ready! ✏️ Students will need a backpack and will want a water bottle. 💜Please label water bottles, lunch boxes, jackets, and other belongings with your child’s name. Our lost and found fills up every year, and names make it much easier to return items to their owners. We can’t wait to see everyone at Open House on August 13th!
