Lavaca Middle School

LMS Fall Pictures are Tuesday!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a GREAT first two weeks at Lavaca Middle School! 💜 We celebrated our students’ hard work with some extra time outside, and we wrapped up the week with words of encouragement from Dr. Hansen and an inspiring lesson on mindset from Mrs. Rice. ✨ We are so proud of the effort and positive attitudes our students are showing each day! We truly have the BEST kids at LMS! 💜⭐️

Our 7th & 8th grade Arrows created their own Plot Roller Coasters in Ms. Driscoll’s Language Arts classes! 📚🎢 Students put their creativity to work while practicing plotting, storytelling, and following their roller coaster journey from start to finish. What a fun way to bring learning to life!

The Jr. High Cheerleaders have dress up themes each week for the Jr. High Football Games. Tomorrow, we are kicking off with a Hawaiian Theme! Go Arrows! 💜🌺📣🏈

Our 6th graders are already putting their mathematical thinking to work! 📐✨ This week students explored new strategies for finding the area of complex shapes, making connections, and learning from one another. Some students even stepped up to the document camera to show their work and explain their thinking, giving the class a chance to learn from their classmates’ strategies. We love seeing students take ownership of their learning and discover that there can be more than one way to solve a problem! 🧠📏💙

Our 8th graders had some fun with research this week in Physical Science! They explored, investigated, and learned new things while putting their research skills to work. We love seeing our students engaged and learning! 💜💛🏹

Our 7th graders had a great week in Mrs. Winchester’s science class! They worked together to complete the “Saving Fred” activity, practicing teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and critical-thinking skills along the way.

See you tonight at Meet the Arrows! #arrowpride #arrowsaimforward
