Lavaca High School

The Nutrition Science classes at LHS have teamed up with LES to support their Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program Grant for this school year! The high school students will prep & serve the special snacks directly to the K-4 classrooms for students to enjoy. The high school students are putting their food safety knowledge into practice while the younger students are able to learn about healthy snacks & try new foods. This amazing grant program is fun, educational, & provides tasty treats for our students!

LHS welcomed Mr. Wells, Virtual Arkansas Instructor, to campus this morning. He spent time with his AP US History class as they prepare to wrap up the first quarter later this week. The partnership between Lavaca High School & Virtual Arkansas provides students additional accelerated course offerings.

Lavaca FFA attended the AR/OK State Fair this week & teams competed in various categories in preparation for upcoming eventsL Dairy 15/41, Floricutlure 15/35, Livestock Reasons 19/32, Livestock No-Reasons, 33/68. Also, individually, freshman Rowan Stevenson placed 99th out of 325 contestants in Livestock No-Reasons.

Congrats to the LHS Golf team for winning 1st at the district golf tournament today in Bentonville!! The team won after a playoff hole due to a 3-way tie! Also congrats to Tanner Hamilton (2nd) & Jake Watson (4th) for overall individual scores! We are proud of you!
