Mrs. Cooper's Visual Art classes just completed a unit over Art Careers. They selected a career, researched the educational and occupational requirements, salary, and interesting facts. They wrote a report and presented the information to their peers and created art as their chosen art career. Here are some of their works and may be viewed in the Middle School Library.

The Lavaca Middle School Band performed at the region 8 Concert Assessment today in Van Buren and scored an overall EXCELLENT rating on stage and a SUPERIOR rating in sight reading! GO BAND!

6th grade explored connotation and shades of meaning by creating semantic gradients. They presented their products and justified their choices.

LMS Quiz Bowl students were recognized at the March school board meeting for their outstanding performances & recognitions at this year’s quiz bowl tournaments. In addition, the LHS Choir performed 2 pieces & the LHS Band performed 1 piece as they are both preparing for their upcoming state contests.







Mrs. Cooper's Visual Art Students completed a unit over Art Criticism and Aesthetics where they learned how to analyze artwork using a design chart. They created art based on Abstract, Realism, and Nonobjective Art Styles. Check out their work!
