Members of the Youth Senate participated in a conference call with Senator Boozman today. On the call, they discussed each groups’ progress related to their legislative topics for the spring session. LHS junior, Julia Owen participated in the group that is studying the fentanyl crisis in Arkansas.

LHS HOCO dress-up day 2 was Salad Dressing Day (Ranch = Country, Thousand Island = Beach, etc.)!
LHS Quiz Bowl attended competition today at the Guy Fenter Educational Cooperative. Congrats to Erynn Hutson on receiving the individual Top 10 certificate.
LHS seniors attended a Draft Day virtual workshop Wednesday, January 10. Draft Day is an initiative led by industries across Arkansas that are working to bring a new generation of professionals and skilled workers to America’s workforce.

LHS HOCO dress-up days started today with Opposite Day (Students dress as teachers, teachers dress as students)!
Mrs. Teague's Mobile Apps 1 classes are learning to code robots this week. Students have designed and built mazes and started coding their robots using an app on their phones.
The LHS Student Council is gearing up for Homecoming Week! Homecoming dress up days will begin next Wednesday, January 10th. The Homecoming Ceremony will be on Tuesday, January 16th at 5:30pm.

The Lavaca High School Basketball Homecoming ceremony will be held on Tuesday, January 16th. LHS StuCo is selling homecoming shirts. The deadline to order shirts is Sunday, January 7th.
