Mrs. Taylor's Art classes have been working on Still Life Drawings & Mood Collages.
In their still life drawings, students investigated and applied the element of art Value, which is the scale of light to dark tones in art. They had the choice to either bring their own meaningful objects, or draw from a collection of objects that I put together in the center of the room. Their goal was to realistically draw and shade at least 3 items from real life observation, and shade them to look 3-dimensional. They had to include all shades from white to black to create high contrast in their drawing. They did an incredible job!
Students investigated the process of collage making in mood collages. They had to find images in recycled magazines and rearrange or overlap them to create a new, unified image. In this way the project applied the principle of art Unity. Their goal was to effectively communicate a chosen mood in their collage. It isn't easy to communicate a feeling through art, especially when you are reacting only to found images! This was a fun project that let them be a little more creative and open-ended with their finished artwork.
The sophomores came together for a class meeting today. They learned about class ring options & Class of 2027 gear!

The Class of 2025 attended a senior presentation & submitted their cap & gown sizes. The countdown has started for their May graduation ceremony. Seniors were able to look at a variety of Class of 2025 memorabilia items & visit as a class today.
