The annual spring Band Concert was held in the PAC. The middle school bands joined the high school band for the grand finale to create a Mega Band and they performed Born to be Wild! The concert was excellent! PArt 1
LHS football attended the high school weightlifting championship for the first time in school history. They competed in Lake Hamilton today! Way to represent the Arrows! We are looking forward to the upcoming football season!
Two honor students from the LHS Class of 2024 were selected to participate in the Governor's Scholastic Honors Day at the Governor's Mansion in Little Rock today. Scholastic Honors Day recognizes Arkansas' best and brightest students. Congratulations to Anniston Carter and Kylie Teague on your accomplishments. We are proud of you both - way to represent Lavaca High School!!
The Golden Arrows came up short in the regional tournament & ended their season. Our seniors will be missed! It was a good season & we are proud of our Golden Arrows!!
The Lady Arrows fought hard in the rainy conditions to get the WIN in round 1 of the regional tournament! Hannah Winchester’s home run helped the Arrows gain a solid lead & punched their ticket into the state tournament

Six Lavaca FFA officers attended the 97th Arkansas FFA State Convention this week in Hot Springs. Kayleigh Johnson and Heidi Jo Bias were talent performers during two of the sessions and Lavaca received a National Chapter Award. The convention provided many opportunities for the students and allowed them to witness the rich history and influence that FFA has offered since 1928. The theme of the convention this year was "Evolve" which paralleled the process of planting with our choices and directions in life.

LHS is super excited to announce the Local Board of Education approved the promotion of Nick Stovall as the Golden Arrows head football coach. Coach Stovall has spent the past three seasons as the Offensive Coordinator for the Arrows. Prior to being at Lavaca, Stovall was the Offensive Coordinator at Waldron High School. Coach Mark Headley announced his retirement from coaching the Arrows earlier this spring, after a 27-year run. He is looking forward to the new era for the Golden Arrows. Headley describes Stovall as a “man with high character who values developing young people into good football players but more importantly seeing them develop into quality adults after they leave his program.”
Stovall is ready to hit the ground running and will take the off-season football athletes to compete in the 32nd Annual High School Weight-Lifting Championship in Lake Hamilton on Saturday, May 4. Moving forward as head coach, in the coming weeks, Stovall will coordinate meetings with the current coaching staff, players, families, and football youth league board members to share his vision for the Lavaca football program. Spring football is expected to begin the week of May 13 or following the end of the Diamond Arrows’ season. You will be able to see the football arrows in action as their fall season begins the week of August 26, 2024. Exciting times are ahead for the Golden Arrows!

4x100m Relay team placed 2nd and consisted of Andrew Johnson, Max Floyd, Roberto Lopez, and Jose Rodriguez
4x200m Relay placed 3rd and consisted of Mitchell Chartier, Andrew Johnson, Roberto Lopez, and Michael Barwick
4x400m Relay placed 3rd and consisted of Adrion Kerns, Chris Ramos, Chris Trujillo, and Levi White

LHS Art 2 students have been creating masks from cultural inspirations. They used plaster gauze, gesso, paint and additive materials in their designs.
Congratulations to Maddi Buford on her graduation from the UAFS Practical Nursing Program this evening! Maddi is a senior at LHS and completed the LPN certification throughout her junior & senior years at LHS which was possible through the WATC program. We are so proud of you Maddi!
