Four LHS students attended the 2025 Educators Rising Regional Conference on Thursday, October 23 at Arkansas Tech University. The conference, "Teach with Purpose, Lead with Passion," allowed students & their teacher leaders to connect, learn, and demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and leadership in teaching. Keynote speaker was 2022 RHS Teacher of the Year, Vandy Moore.

Mrs. Robinson’s 9th grade English/Oral Communication students participated in a mock trial based on the short story “Button, Button” by Richard Matheson.
Students took on the roles of attorneys, witnesses, and jurors—using critical thinking, public speaking, persuasive writing, and teamwork to make their cases. From crafting opening statements to cross-examining witnesses, they showed off real-world communication skills while bringing literature to life!

Students in World History ended their Renaissance unit by creating horror movie posters. Students had to take different aspects they learned from the Renaissance and create an original horror movie poster with their own movie title and tagline.
AP English Language students wrapped up their study of rhetorical analysis with an ever popular Disney Villain project. Students analyzed a song or speech by their favorite villain. In During the argument portion in a few weeks, they will present their case for why their chosen villain is the greatest villain of all time.
