Lavaca Elementary students “mustache” you to make healthy choices!
Part 1
LES students have focused on self control for the month of October! We have learned there are 4 types of coping skills to help us self regulate.
1. Thinking
2. Relaxation
3. Movement
4. Distraction
We implemented our self regulation stations to practice those impulse controls and find the coping skills that work best for us as individuals.
We are excited to use these all year to learn how to regulate our bodies better during times of stress!

Amazing Arrows of the Month October- Self Control
We had a fantastic time during Red Ribbon week at LES! We were honored to have Joni Padilla, our Community Health Education Specialist from the Arkansas Department of Health to speak to our elementary students highlighting the serious risks of vaping. During the presentation, our students were shown the engaging Coral Reef Video, which covers some of the dangers associated with vaping. They also provided tote bags, coloring books and stickers for all our students. Let’s continue to support our children in making safe and healthy choices. Thank you to the Arkansas Department of Health for their support in spreading this vital message! #RedRIbbonWeek #BeWellArkansas #SayNoToVaping
