We were proud to represent our district at today's event celebrating First National Bank of Fort Smith's incredible $100,000 donation to the new Sebastian County Regional Library! At Lavaca Public Schools, we know that strong libraries build strong students. This brand-new facility will give our local youth a modern, welcoming space to learn, research, and grow outside the classroom. A massive thank you to First National Bank for investing in literacy and lifelong learning for our families! 📚✨

The LPS Admin team attended the Arkansas School Behavior Conference this week. The conference provided essential skills & strategies to enhance our behavioral practices within the district which will positively impact the Lavaca Schools community! The team welcomed Dr. Hansen, LMS principal, to the group & planning for the 26-27 school year is underway!

Free Athletic Physicals will be offered Friday, May 22 from 8am-12pm @ Lavaca High School. These physicals will be for students in grades 6-11. Please pick up a physical form from either the middle school or high school office. You must bring the completed and signed form with you the day of the physicals.

The Lavaca School District Board of Education voted to approve Tammy Brewer as the district's next superintendent during its regular board meeting on April 27. Mrs. Brewer is expected to officially assume her new role as superintendent effective July 1, 2026.

Next Wednesday, April 15 - we will PURPLE UP in honor of military children. We hope all students & families will participate in this event by wearing purple!

April is designated as the Month of the Military Child in Arkansas, honoring the resilience and sacrifices of military-connected children. Throughout the month, schools are hosting a "Purple Up! Day," where communities wear purple to show support for all military branches.
