"My name is Embry Thornton and I am thrilled to now be a part of the Lavaca School District! While I have many hobbies and interests such as hiking, basketball, and writing my two biggest passions in life are for education and history. This is why I am beyond excited to be starting the position of 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher at Lavaca Middle School. As a former student from a small, rural school district in central Arkansas, I have always been passionate about the impact schools can have on communities. I am dedicated to providing an accessible and effective education to a town that cares deeply for its’ students!"

"I'll be teaching Intro to Business, Markets & Analytics, and Supply Chain & Logistics. I'm also involved as an assistant coach for football and baseball, and I'll be the FBLA sponsor. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, hunting, and fishing. I chose to go into education because I want to be a positive role model in students' lives-someone who inspires them to become the best version of themselves and helps prepare them for life after high school."

I am thrilled to be back in Lavaca, my hometown, and to take on the new role as Director of Daycare and Pre-K at the Little Arrows Learning Center. With a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to creating a nurturing environment, I am eager to establish a safe and inspiring space where children can learn and grow! I look forward to collaborating with parents, staff, and the community to ensure a positive experience for all the children in our care."
