LHS gifted & talented students visited the Arkansas College of Health in Fort Smith today. They enjoyed touring the campus & learning about medical career options.










Lavaca Senior High choir members attended their first Choral Leadership Academy Clinic hosted by UCA in Conway. Pictured throughout is Ana Stone, a freshman, leading the soprano sectional and Kyler White participating in the bass sectional. All our attending students stepped up and professionally represented our school and program. The clinic was lead by Dr. Eychanar and Dr. Mayhew. Mr. Stiles couldn’t be more proud of how the Lavaca choral department was represented. Great job, everyone.







Students in Mrs. Graves' Physical Science experimented with two labs this week to study properties of matter, including physical & chemical changes and mixtures. They discussed how properties of substances are used in forensics to analyze a “crime scene” sample, and made lava lamps!

Coach H's communications' classes enjoyed the fall weather today as students presented their "How To" speech demonstrations. The classes learned how to change a tire tube, swing a rope, rope a steer dummy, catch a football, & shoot a basketball.

LHS Friday Night Football Game Themes

The Lavaca School Board will have a closed meeting on Monday, August 28th at 6pm. Our regular board meeting will follow immediately after the closed meeting.
Ms. Riddle’s journalism class spent time this week learning about the history of journalism, how the media has changed over time, and major court cases that influenced the press. They did a newspaper structure scavenger hunt and are now working on mini posters for court cases.

Lavaca FFA students participated in fair competitions this week. Rylee Graham won Grand Champion as well as a Reserve Grand Champion at South Sebastian County in the Open Poultry Division. Both Lillian Fults & Breonna Moore placed Third Premium in the Pullet Chain contest.
