LHS is super excited to announce the Local Board of Education approved the promotion of Nick Stovall as the Golden Arrows head football coach. Coach Stovall has spent the past three seasons as the Offensive Coordinator for the Arrows. Prior to being at Lavaca, Stovall was the Offensive Coordinator at Waldron High School. Coach Mark Headley announced his retirement from coaching the Arrows earlier this spring, after a 27-year run. He is looking forward to the new era for the Golden Arrows. Headley describes Stovall as a “man with high character who values developing young people into good football players but more importantly seeing them develop into quality adults after they leave his program.”
Stovall is ready to hit the ground running and will take the off-season football athletes to compete in the 32nd Annual High School Weight-Lifting Championship in Lake Hamilton on Saturday, May 4. Moving forward as head coach, in the coming weeks, Stovall will coordinate meetings with the current coaching staff, players, families, and football youth league board members to share his vision for the Lavaca football program. Spring football is expected to begin the week of May 13 or following the end of the Diamond Arrows’ season. You will be able to see the football arrows in action as their fall season begins the week of August 26, 2024. Exciting times are ahead for the Golden Arrows!

Adrion Kerns- 1st place in High jump with a height of 6 ft
Levi White- 2nd place in the 400m dash
Roberto Lopez- 3rd place in the 200m dash
4x100m Relay team placed 2nd and consisted of Andrew Johnson, Max Floyd, Roberto Lopez, and Jose Rodriguez
4x200m Relay placed 3rd and consisted of Mitchell Chartier, Andrew Johnson, Roberto Lopez, and Michael Barwick
4x400m Relay placed 3rd and consisted of Adrion Kerns, Chris Ramos, Chris Trujillo, and Levi White

Congratulations to Maddi Buford on her graduation from the UAFS Practical Nursing Program this evening! Maddi is a senior at LHS and completed the LPN certification throughout her junior & senior years at LHS which was possible through the WATC program. We are so proud of you Maddi!
