Stuart Rowland, the owner of Stu's Clean Cookin' talked to our Family Consumer Science classes at LHS today about the importance of making healthy food choices and how he turned his passion for clean eating into a successful business. He reminded students how important it is to take care of their body and mind by eating right, staying active and getting enough sleep. #Stu's Clean Cookin 😋

Mrs. Overton's Environmental Science classes dug fossils out of plaster and identified them today.











LHS Talent Show was a huge hit! Congratulations to Kyler White (1st place), Heidi Jo Bias (2nd place), and tied for 3rd place, Leah Elkins and Madelyn Axley! Go Arrows!



LHS Homecoming is next week! Here are the dress-up days:


45 members of the Lavaca FFA attended the Arkansas/Oklahoma State Fair FFA Day Judging Contest on Wednesday. The members participated in Livestock, Poultry, Dairy, Floriculture, Nursery Landscape, and Tractor Driving contests. The Lavaca FFA dairy team placed 2nd out of 28 teams. Maddi Buford placed 3rd overall and Caden McDonald placed 6th overall out of 104. The alternate dairy team placed 4th out of 10 teams. The Lavaca livestock team placed 24th out of 53. The alternate livestock judging team placed 20 out of 42 teams. The Nursery Landscape team finished 5th out of 14 teams. The Lavaca poultry team placed 19th out of 31 teams and the Floriculture team placed 23rd out of 29 teams.
This was the first contest for many new members and was a fun, productive day.

Mrs. Overton's Honors Biology class observed osmosis taking place in eggs placed in hypertonic, hypotonic, & isotonic solutions today at LHS.











LHS gifted & talented students visited the Arkansas College of Health in Fort Smith today. They enjoyed touring the campus & learning about medical career options.











Lavaca Senior High choir members attended their first Choral Leadership Academy Clinic hosted by UCA in Conway. Pictured throughout is Ana Stone, a freshman, leading the soprano sectional and Kyler White participating in the bass sectional. All our attending students stepped up and professionally represented our school and program. The clinic was lead by Dr. Eychanar and Dr. Mayhew. Mr. Stiles couldn’t be more proud of how the Lavaca choral department was represented. Great job, everyone.








Students in Mrs. Graves' Physical Science experimented with two labs this week to study properties of matter, including physical & chemical changes and mixtures. They discussed how properties of substances are used in forensics to analyze a “crime scene” sample, and made lava lamps!
