LHS FBLA will host a 1st Annual Pickleball Tournament Sat, Sept 27. You can register your team through TicketLeap at: https://rb.gy/8ytdat. The deadline to sign up is Wed, Sept 24 at noon.

This event is a fundraiser to support FBLA district & state conventions. The tournament bracket will be posted via the high school social media pages & emailed to registered teams on Fri, Sept 26. If you have questions, contact Coach Graves at janson.graves@lavacaschools.com.

In Mrs. Hunt’s AP English Language & Composition class, students are diving deep into rhetoric! Through close reading and analysis of famous speeches and essays, students are learning to dissect complex texts for their rhetorical situation — identifying the speaker, purpose, audience, context, exigence, choices, appeals, and tone.

The first week of September was filled with a lot of learning & new experiences for many students. In Civics, students created their own country while Algebra students analyzed sequences. PE was filled with racquetball while other students welded in the new Intro to Thermal Cutting concurrent class. It was "Fun Friday" in Technical Math where students solved problems through a scavenger hunt & Marketing students designed their own marketing campaign. We are looking forward to more challenging activities for students this week!
