2023 Thanksgiving Feast was a success! We served over 450 Thanksgiving meals! So thankful for our cafeteria workers and these High School StuCo Members that came over to help serve.

Our local county extension agent, Tristin Bolton brought a burst of flavor to LES with the AR Food program. Students got to savor the deliciousness of smothered greens, opening their taste buds to a world of nutritious goodness! Thank you to our amazing county extension agent for making nutrition education both tasty and informative!

Thanksgiving Feast

Thank you to our local county extension agent, Tristin Bolton for a fun session at our after-school program on Thursday! Our students had a grape-tastic time exploring the "Pick a Better Snack" program. 🍎🍇 They learned how colorful grapes are rich in vitamin C and K and are a refreshing source of hydration at 80% water. After tasting various grape colors, red grapes emerged as the favorites! 🍇❤️ Our children received an informative handout, "EAT SMART. PLAY HARD," promoting healthy choices and family activities. Let's encourage quality time with loved ones and incorporate fun physical activities like walking, yoga, biking, and more. 🚴♂️🧘♀️🏃♀️ #FamilyTime #CountyExtensionOffice

LES students have focused on self control for the month of October! We have learned there are 4 types of coping skills to help us self regulate.
1. Thinking
2. Relaxation
3. Movement
4. Distraction
We implemented our self regulation stations to practice those impulse controls and find the coping skills that work best for us as individuals.
We are excited to use these all year to learn how to regulate our bodies better during times of stress!

Amazing Arrows of the Month October- Self Control

We had a fantastic time during Red Ribbon week at LES! We were honored to have Joni Padilla, our Community Health Education Specialist from the Arkansas Department of Health to speak to our elementary students highlighting the serious risks of vaping. During the presentation, our students were shown the engaging Coral Reef Video, which covers some of the dangers associated with vaping. They also provided tote bags, coloring books and stickers for all our students. Let’s continue to support our children in making safe and healthy choices. Thank you to the Arkansas Department of Health for their support in spreading this vital message! #RedRIbbonWeek #BeWellArkansas #SayNoToVaping
