Middle School Special Education Teacher (Grades 5-8)
Special Education - K-12 certified or working toward certification
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of learning goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
Assist in referring the learning disabilities of students.
Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate and current records and prepares progress reports.
Provides challenging and relevant instruction on a daily basis to all students and is able to differentiate instruction to the students.
Follow expectations given from administration verbally and written.
Participates in the approved evaluation process.
Obtains required professional development training.
Maintains current teaching credentials.
Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met.
Serves as a role model to students following ethical and legal behavior.
Display professionalism in appearance, attitude, and actions.
Follow code of ethics for educators.
Follow all HIPPA and FERPA laws and guidelines protecting student information
Requirements: Construction experience preferred. HVAC experience preferred.
Middle School Special Education Paraprofessional
Experience preferred, but not required, in the area of working with special needs students.
Drivers needed for bus routes.
Class B CDL required.
P and S Endorsement required.
Full time bus drivers qualify for insurance.
