The Lavaca Middle School Serteen Club would like to invite all students in the 8th grade to become a part of this great club on our campus!

The Serteen Club is chartered by the Downtown Sertoma Club of Fort Smith, a service organization that has been focused on SERVICE TO MANKIND.

A Serteen is a student who is interested in what's going on in the world, and they are motivated to improve their school and community. Members decide themselves what needs are most important in their schools or hometowns. Serteens elect their own leaders, raise their own money, choose their own service projects and plan their own social activities.

Each Month students from our middle school will be selected to represent us as our "Students of the Month!"

Two students from each grade will be selected each month from the criteria below, and all students nominated will be "Honor Arrows" and receive a certificate for the month.

Lavaca "Students of the Month" are:

Appreciative students display exemplary behavior and have an attitude of gratitude.

Responsible students are on time for class and ready with all materials to learn.

Reliable students have all work turned in on time and are prepared.

Optimistic students display exemplary attitudes by expressing kindness in their words and deeds.

Winning students are truthful, considerate, and attentive to others.
